The Dutch Suite: Romantic boutique Guesthouse

For up to 2 People

About the Accommodation

The Dutch Suite of Villa Epikouros is the former farmhouse, built in the hills west of Porto Heli in 1926. Thick walls, 50 centimeters thick, characterize this architectural style. In the spring of 2020, this farm has been completely renovated and the four private terraces are equipped with new porches.

The suite has a total surface of 60 m2 and contains a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and sink, an air-conditioned living / dining room, an air-conditioned bedroom and a lounge. The suite has its own entrance and is only rented exclusively: you are the only tenant! The terraces offer beautiful views over the bay of Porto Heli, the Argolic Gulf and Lake Ververonda. In the distance you can see the (snowy) peaks of the mountains of the Peloponnese.

The suite is part of Villa Epikouros and has a garden of 2600 square meters.

The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, induction hob, Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother and handy kitchen appliances. In the village there are several shops where you can do your shopping. On request Martin could make a special 'home made' breakfast (extra charge of 30 euros for 2 persons). If you let us know one day in advance, we could make proper preparations for this. Other special catering wishes, ask chef Martin, and he would surprise you. Minimum stay of 3 nights. Corona measures

The Dutch Suite has independent living and accommodation areas, with no physical contact between guests and host. The Dutch Suite can accommodate a maximum of two guests, so unwanted contact with other guests is not possible. We use a special corona cleaning protocol: the suite is thoroughly aired after every use, professionally cleaned and the touch-sensitive surfaces are disinfected. The linen is washed at the highest possible temperature. We also provide protective equipment such as disposable gloves, hand gel and special cleaning products.

Neighbourhood

The Dutch Suite of Villa Epikouros is located two kilometers from the picturesque harbor town of Porto Heli, about 5 minutes away by car or taxi. This cosmopolitan resort is located about 40 kilometers east of the city of Nafplion and off the coast is the island of Spetses. A luxury destination in mainland Greece with many villas and resorts. In the area there are small bays with beautiful (sandy) beaches. It is not without reason that King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima have their luxury holiday villa here, just like the Spanish and Greek royal family.

At the marina, where the ferry to the islands of Spetses, Hydra and Poros also departs, you will find most taverns, restaurants and terraces. The sheltered bay of Porto Heli is full of bobbing sailboats and yachts in the summer. Greek ship owners have their summer residences here, and celebrities like Sean Connery and Vladimir Putin have their own properties here. The Ververonda lake is on the west side with sandy beaches and various water sports options. Near Porto Heli there are beautiful beaches with or without facilities. Ververonda is popular with its beach bars, but also the "golden" beaches of Hinitsa and the quiet Triantafyllou Beach.

The fishing village of Kilada, known for its shrimp, is a 20-minute drive away. A tip is to take the ferry to the atmospheric island of Spetses for a day. Frequent ferries depart from the harbor of the coastal town of Kosta to the Argo-Saronic islet. Other attractions include the amphitheater of Epidaurus, the island of Hydra and the pleasant town of Nafplion. The picturesque coastal town of Ermioni with a beautiful sandy beach is also worth a visit.

Transport

Porto Heli can be reached in various ways. First you fly via a (line or charter) flight to Athens Airport. From there are the following options:

  • Flying by helicopter to Porto Heli via www.ifly.gr is possible, but quite expensive (one way from 3500 euros);
  • By bus and train: A train runs from Athens Airport to Athens, the port of Piraeus and Corinth. Porto Heli can be reached by bus via Nafplion or Kranidi.
  • By ferry: A ferry leaves from Pireaus Haven to the port of Porto Heli three times a day. Check here for availability: ferryscanner.com
  • By taxi: At the airport you can take a taxi to Villa Epikouros. The costs are approximately € 250.00;
  • By shuttle service from Villa Epikouros: You will be picked up at Athens airport and driven to Villa Epikouros with a private driver. The costs are around € 200.00;
  • Per rental car: We advise you to book a rental car when booking your trip, this is often cheaper than renting a car separately.
